This is in Balykchy, next to Issykul, the mountain lake in Kyrgyzstan. Apparently the yurt in the background belongs to a Kyrgyz guy who tried to start a revolution last year and is now living in the UAE....

I'm not sure how many people actually live in yurts, but there are lots by the side of the road - it looks like people put them up over the summer to sell stuff to the tourists as they drive past, and then they go home after the season's ended, but I'm just guessing.....
